Twitter, World Cup and Restaurants in Prague: what do they have in common?!
Just on time for the World Cup, on Monday the 14th, Twitter team proudly announced us we will now be able to tag our tweets with the exact location. Twitter users will now be able to show their beloved friends and followers whether they are watching the game from their Texas ranch, tiny little flat in Paris or from the Ellis Park Stadium itself! The site’s latest tool was already launched in the USA and is about to roll out into another 65 countries in the following week.
And that is not it. Twitter teamed up with the Foursquare and Gowalla to let us check in to our favourite restaurants listed on the mentioned websites straight from Twitter. They said there were already lots of users tweeting their check-ins to the restaurants from those sites. It is a shame, however, that Foursquare and Gowalla still need to improve a lot on this side of the Atlantic. 13 venues in London? 10 in Paris? 0 in Prague? Foursquare has still a long way to go!
Just make sure, no one from the Please Rob Me website is following you when you are in South Africa. As noticed by S.E.Krammer, that might help your laptop or iPad find their new home.
