To buy or not to buy the Apple iPad

The much awaited Apple iPad has finally seen the light: it’s a thin and light 9.7-inch multi-touch device designed to bring the best experience for web surfing, watching video, reading books and listening to music.

Ipad specs say the battery can last 10 hours, it has 16GB to 64GB flash storage capacity (non expandable), a new 1GHz Apple A4 processor, Wi-Fi (and 3G too on the most expensive model), accelerometer, compass, no USB port, no camera.

Wi-Fi versions will be priced at $499 (16GB), $599 (32GB) and $699 (64GB). You’ll have to pay $629 for the 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G version, $729 for the 32GB one and $829 for the top Wi-Fi + 3G 64GB iPad.

Sleek design and sexy pricing will make your head turn and want to have one. The question now is: Should you buy an iPad?

Top 10 reasons to buy the Apple iPad

  1. You just want to check email, browse the internet and watch movies from bed
  2. You are glad the iPad doesn’t have a camera because it gives you a good excuse to buy another one in a year or so
  3. You need a color screen to read books because you just look at the pictures
  4. You agree that those ugly USB ports and memory card slots are useless and would ruin a beautiful design
  5. You need a third device to carry with you along with your iPhone and your MacBook Air
  6. You think that Adobe Flash is a lightning fast guy wearing a red costume
  7. You own a small iPhone and the iPad looks like augmented reality to you
  8. You own an iPhone and you want to see your Apps bigger
  9. You just want a device to surf the web while watching tv on the couch
  10. It’s just the best toilet web browsing gadget ever.

Top 10 reasons not to buy an iPad

  1. No cameras mean no video conferencing and Augmented Reality
  2. No Flash support means no rich internet browsing and you love playing those online flash games
  3. No SD card slot and no integrated USB port
  4. No E-Ink screen means no comfortable ebook reading
  5. It doesn’t replace your laptop, your netbook, your smartphone, your handheld console and your ebook reader
  6. No multitasking
  7. It’s not a real tablet computer (why would you want one anyway?)
  8. You’ll get a bigger, cheaper and more powerful Windows tablet instead with a full HD screen
  9. Carrying an iPad man bag would make them question your manhood
  10. It’s just a bigger iPod touch.
